Survive Wild 2021 is an amazing, exhilarating and uplifting outdoor experience. Under the watchful eye of highly-trained experts, you will be encouraged and empowered to take on a series of challenges, specially designed to take you outside of your comfort zone. Before you know it, you’ll be facing fears and achieving more than you ever believed you could.

This full day adventure takes place in Coniston in the Lake District. Activities you will be taking part in can vary depending on weather conditions, but usually include:

  • Abseiling
  • Scrambling up rock faces
  • Tunnels & caves
  • Water jumps and rock slides
  • Trekking over rugged terrain

After the activities are finished, you will make your way back to a well-equipped campsite where your tent will already be pitched for you and, as a team, you can choose whether to spend the evening cooking around the campfire or down the local pub.

This event is being run by Dan Searson and his team of experts at Challenge The Wild, in support of Daisy’s Dream.

Who can take part

The Survive The Wild 2021 challenge is an event for anyone aged 18 and above. You do not need to be as strong as an ox, or athlete-fit, but you will need to complete a medical form which will be assessed before your application is confirmed. A sense of humour and a positive attitude are compulsory!

(We will consider applications from young people aged 16 -18 if they are taking part with a family member aged 18 or over - please just get in touch.)

You can enter on your own, or as part of a team - it's completely up to you.

Costs and fundraising targets

Places are available for a non-refundable deposit of £100 with an additional minimum fundraising commitment of £400 per person. The cost of your place is £135 per person and this will be deducted from the £500. This price includes all activities, expert instruction, specialist clothing and equipment, overnight camping, a Daisy's Dream t-shirt, and insurance. Please note that travel to and from Coniston Valley is not included. There is the option to camp on the Friday night too, if required.

We rely on community fundraisers like you to continue our valuable work with bereaved families  and we'd like to support your fundraising as much as we can. The more money you raise, the more children and young people can access our service.

You can now create a personalised online giving page right here on our website, which is a great platform for encouraging people to donate. We also have lots of free fundraising tools available for you to download or alternatively, you can order a Fundraising Toolkit. This includes a printed copy of our fundraising information, together with a selection of fundraising merchandise such as pens, balloons, badges etc. to help you raise as much money as you can for Daisy's Dream.
