Those of you who know me will know last year wasn't the best for me. I got made redundant and then broke my ankle.....and with various restrictions still in place it meant I sat on my backside for quite a lot of it!!And then I saw an amazing opportunity to work as a community fundraiser for Daisy's Dream and here I am!! This is a cause I instantly fell in love with, I am honoured to work with some amazing people and meet wonderful humans who just want to make life better for our community.I've decided to do the March Marathon and complete 26.2 miles across March, to help me get back into walking every day and building up my muscles again. Raising money along the way will help spur me on, even on rainy days when I don't want to set foot outside the door!If you don't know us, Daisy's Dream is a Berkshire based charity supporting children and young people who are facing, or have experienced, the death of someone close. Each year Daisy's Dream support hundreds of families with a service that is tailored to meet the individual needs of each child. This can range from over the phone advice for parents, carers and professionals to 1:1 home and/or school visits for the child, as well as therapeutic group events. Our amazing team still managed to provide these services throughout lockdown using technology in the same way that many organisations had to adapt. All of Daisy's Dream's services are provided to families completely free of charge and we don't receive any statutory funding for their work. Our work is invaluable to those who we support and I am hoping to raise as much money as I can to help us recover from the last two years which have restricted us in fundraising, as with the rest of the charity sector. Donating through this page is quick, easy and secure. Please share this link with friends and family on social media to help me reach my target; together we can help those who need Daisy's Dream.
