The 15,000ft Skydive has been a stalwart of our events calendar for years, and our fundraising team never fail to be amazed at how many people will happily jump out of a plane to raise money for Daisy’s Dream.

This year was something really special though, as the Wilson family made it their mission to make the 2019 skydive our biggest ever; all in memory of the late Paul Wilson.

With 18 jumpers primed and ready, we couldn’t have asked for a better day. Clear blue skies, brilliant sunshine and a breeze of only 4mph. Absolutely perfect! Especially given the storms of the weekend before…

Training done and kit on, family and friends gathered round to watch (and tuck into the 200 gorgeous homemade cakes that Sarah, Sheila and Lynne had thoughtfully baked) as the jumpers took to skies in small groups.

One by one we watched them land, waiting on standby with a glass of fizz to celebrate, only to hear almost everybody proclaiming that they wanted to go straight back up and do it again!

In total, after everyone's jump fees were paid, our team of skydivers raised over £12,500 this year. Enough to pay for all of our therapeutic group events for the year as well as our Christmas event, where we invite children and young people who have used the service during the year to join us for an afternoon of festive fun and games.

A massive Daisy’s Dream thank you to Lucy Morgan, Martin Wilson, Nigel Rankin, Adam Hyde, Lloyd Smith, Paul Roberts, Sam Wilson, Emily Horton, Louise Rees, Jason Gardiner, Mandy Mercer, Becky Taylor, Anu Shekhar, Emily Woods, Rich Oakham, Gary May, Harry Greenwood and Gavin Saunders for taking part, as well as all the family and friends who donated to their fundraising pages and came along to support them on the day.

Never ones to rest on their laurels, the Wilson’s have challenged us to make the 2020 Skydive even bigger. If you fancy your chance of taking to the skies and feeling the rush of a minute of freefall, register your interest in a place on our 2020 team today.
