About the role

Each year, Daisy's Dream run a series of specialist therapeutic group events for children and young people that have been affected by the bereavement or serious illness of someone they love. These events offer them an opportunity to engage with others who may have faced similar experiences and help to break down the sense of isolation that can so often be associated with bereavement.

We are looking for volunteers with good listening and communication skills who are able to work alongside our professionally qualified Family Workers to provide practical and emotional support to both children and their families in a group setting.

We ask that our Service Volunteers commit to a minimum of at least two groups per year, however there are opportunities to attend more group events should you wish to. It is a requirement that all Service Volunteers attend the annual 2 day training course provided by Daisy’s Dream.

Volunteers will require character references and will be subject to a criminal record (DBS) check.

Application process

Our service volunteer team is currently full and, as such, we are not accepting applications for service volunteers at this time. This will be reviewed again towards the end of 2019.
