London Marathon

Thatcham friends Caroline and Sarah applied for a Daisy’s Dream London Marathon place. They needed to raise £2k each, a sizeable amount, and so put together a creative plan. They really utilised existing contacts, sharing their Just Giving Page across the local community. Their major fundraising event was an April Fools Party where over 100 guests joined them, and along with auctioneer Chris Tarrant, they raised over £10,000 in one night alone.

The duo also did a great job of raising the profile of Daisy’s Dream by approaching local press and featuring in articles. Caroline even spoke with Amanda & Jamie on HeartFM breakfast show to promote their fundraising and the charity even further.

Between them they raised an incredible £18,500, exceeding their target by 450%!!! This was an amazing example of exploring every fundraising avenue available to them and not being limited by a target.

“As the Marathon date approached I found myself experiencing a whirlwind of emotions. The heart-breaking stories of those who have been aided by Daisy’s Dreams left a deep impression on me, motivating me to continue raising much-needed funds for this remarkable organisation. “

“I ran the London Marathon for Daisy’s Dream following the support they have provided and continue to provide to a friend of mine who lost her husband. Daisy’s Dream have been an amazing support to her and her children, helping them with their grief of losing their Daddy.”
