Daisy’s Dream Awarded £250,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund

We are absolutely thrilled to share some wonderful news with our community.

Daisy’s Dream has been awarded £250,000 of funding over the next five years from The National Lottery Community Fund, made possible thanks to National Lottery players. For a small charity like ours, this support is truly transformational and will help ensure we can continue to provide vital bereavement support to the children, young people and families who rely on us.

Every week, Daisy’s Dream supports children and young people who are facing the devastating loss or serious illness of someone close to them. Through one-to-one support, group work, and specialist guidance for families and professionals, we help young people navigate grief and build resilience during some of the most difficult times in their lives.

This funding will allow us to sustain and strengthen our services over the next five years, which for charities of our size, long-term funding like this is incredibly significant. However, while this funding is incredible news, Daisy’s Dream still needs to raise more than £450,000 every year to keep our services running. We receive no statutory funding, and all of our bereavement support services for children and young people are provided completely free of charge to the families who need them.

Laura Lewis, CEO at Daisy’s Dream, says:

Securing this funding for the next 5 years is a huge achievement for us at Daisy’s Dream. Each year we have to raise over £500k to be able to deliver our essential services, so to have a proportion of that already accounted for will give us a bit more space to think about the development of the charity. As a small organisation we seek to be responsive to the needs of the families that require our help, we are very grateful to The National Lottery for helping us do this.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund and to every single National Lottery player. By playing the lottery, you are helping charities like Daisy’s Dream continue their vital work in communities across the UK.

If you would like to help us continue supporting bereaved children and young people, we would love to hear from you. Whether you’re interested in fundraising, partnering with us as a business, or making a donation, please get in touch with our fundraising team at fundraising@daisysdream.org.uk to find out how you can get involved

From everyone at Daisy’s Dream, and from the children and families we support — thank you.
