Family Support

Supporting your child to prepare for a loss or after the death of someone important to them can be very hard. We know that sometimes providing advice and guidance to parents and carers is just as important as the work we do directly with children and young people.

Our team will offer telephone calls to parents and carers so that they feel supported to help their child or young person through these difficult times. We may also be able to signpost to other support organisations.

We offer group events for parents and carers which give an opportunity to share and learn from one another’s experiences.

Parent Support Groups (for parents whose child/children have a parent who has died.)

Supporting your child when a parent has died can be very challenging, you are often managing your own emotions and grief as well as trying to help them navigate their own feelings. At Daisy’s Dream we understand the importance of supporting parents and carers through this and run regular groups for those who are in this situation to come together.

Our groups are an informal opportunity to meet others who understand and a give everyone the chance to talk about the issues they are finding particularly difficult. Supported by our experienced team of staff and volunteers, these peer led groups have proved incredibly helpful for those that have attended them.
