Life after bereavement as a single dad

Kevin Smith has been a wonderful ambassador for Daisy's Dream since he and his young sons received support from us after the death of his wife, Philippa, in 2013.

Kevin has recently featured in a book about single dads by one of the UK's leading photographers, Harry Borden. Harry's book has been the subject of a picture essay in The Guardian, highlighting the unique nature of being a single dad, in whatever circumstances, including through bereavement. In the interview Kevin talks through his emotions before, during and after his wife's illness and death and details how the support he received from Daisy's Dream helped him and his support network ensure they all used clear and consistent language and messaging with his 2 small boys; something which he understandably describes as the most difficult of conversations to ever have to have.
