Let's face it...the idea of cliff jumping, abseiling, camping and zip-wiring in the Lake District isn't for everyone. Luckily for us though, this team of six brave supporters were willing to face their fears to raise money for Daisy's Dream.

Amy Knight was the first of our team to officially sign up! Looking for a way to celebrate her 30th birthday in style, Amy decided that a personal challenge was just the way to mark the occasion. A keen supporter of Daisy's Dream through Maidenhead Ladies Circle, Survive the Wild was the ideal opportunity.

I really wanted to push myself, and being able to take part whilst raising awareness for such a great charity is the perfect combination!

Janet Fitzgibbon has been raising money for Daisy's Dream for the last three years too. As a local primary school teacher, she has seen first hand just how beneficial our work with children and young people is, and was keen to help us continue. When her friend Amy asked her to join her on the challenge, Janet jumped at the chance.

Seeing as I am turning 40 this year, I thought “Why not?” Here’s hoping I survive the wild!

The other four members of the team are a group of friends from Newbury. Two married couples, Phil & Carly, and Charlotte & Chris, are good friends of our Fundraising Manager, Gemma. Following on the birthday theme, one of them is also celebrating their 40th birthday this year and was looking for a challenge! Inspired by hearing about all the great work we do here at Daisy's Dream, the gang decided that Survive the Wild could be just what they were looking for.

We all feel really passionately about the work that Daisy's Dream do. Our target is to raise enough money between us to support 4 local families for a year - even if it means we have to face a terrifying cliff jump to do it!
