Support after baby loss

Our Approach: Bereavement Support for Baby Loss

At Daisy’s Dream, we understand the deep pain and devastating impact that the loss of a baby can have on families. Whether during pregnancy, at birth, or shortly afterwards, this kind of bereavement is deeply heart-breaking and can touch every part of family life.

While we are not a specialist service in all aspects of pregnancy and baby loss, we fully recognise the significance of this grief and its lasting effect on parents, siblings, and extended family.

We also know that reaching out for help can feel overwhelming. That’s why our first priority is to listen with compassion. Families are supported in their initial contact by a trained practitioner, who will take time to understand their individual situation and carry out a sensitive assessment.

Depending on the family’s needs and where appropriate, we may:

  • Provide support to parents and caregivers as they begin to process their grief.

  • Offer therapeutic group programmes for children and young people within the family.

  • Signpost to specialist services and partner organisations who can provide additional tailored care.

Here is a list of organisations we may refer you to including, SANDS, The Lullaby Trust, Tommy’s, ARC, The Miscarriage Association, and The Twins Trust Bereavement Service, alongside local groups including Willow, BIBS, and You’re Not Alone.

Together, we aim to ensure families feel supported, understood, and less alone as they navigate this painful journey.

Recommended Resource: “In the Stars” Storybook Animation

The In the Stars storybook and animation offer a gentle way to help children understand and talk about baby loss. We often share this story with families to help children find their own words and begin to make sense of their loss.
