Setting up a JustGiving page is a fantastic way to raise funds for Daisy’s Dream and make a real impact. If you’re supporting one of our main events, we’ve already set up a main JustGiving page to track the total funds raised. If that’s the case, we’ll send you the link—simply click ‘Start Fundraising’ and follow the steps to create your own page.
To help you get the most out of your page and boost your fundraising efforts, here are our top tips:
1. Personalisation is Key
Your story matters! Sharing why you’re fundraising for Daisy’s Dream can make a huge difference.
- Were you or a loved one supported by Daisy’s Dream?
- Are you fundraising in memory of someone special?
- Is this challenge part of a personal milestone or goal?
Whatever your reason, let people know why this cause is important to you—it makes your supporters feel more connected and inspired to donate.
2. Add a Personal Photo
People want to see who they’re supporting! Whether it’s a photo of you training for a run, preparing for an event, or a picture that means something to your fundraising journey, adding an image makes your page more engaging and increases donations.
3. Set a Fundraising Target—Then Increase It!
Be ambitious! Setting a clear fundraising goal gives people something to aim for. As you get closer to your target, increase it to encourage even more donations.
– Did you know? Research shows that pages with higher targets often raise more!
4. Share, share and share again!
Don’t just set up your page—make sure people know about it! Some of the best ways to get the word out include:
- Social Media: Post your JustGiving link on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter with regular updates on your progress.
- WhatsApp: This is a direct and personal way to ask for support. A quick message to family, friends, and colleagues can go a long way.
- Get Friends & Family to Share: If you have a family member or friend with a large network (e.g., someone who works in a big company), ask them to share your page—it could reach hundreds of new potential supporters!
- Workplace Support: Ask your employer if they can share your fundraising efforts via internal emails, newsletters, or Teams/Slack channels.
The more people see your page, the more likely they are to donate!
5. A Final Tip from Our Community Fundraiser & Engagements Officer, Jade:
“My daughter Sienna, who is seven, alongside her best friend Suki, eight, we’re inspired to fundraise for Daisy’s Dream by running the Green Park Challenge. I initially set theirJustGiving target at £300, but as they got close, I increased it. They’ve now raised an amazing £745 with a target of £800! People are more likely to donate if they see you’re still working towards a goal—so don’t be afraid to raise your target!”
