What to expect, when visiting us.

What to Expect When You Visit Daisy’s Dream for a Group Session

We offer regular group sessions for children and young people who have been bereaved or who have a family member with a serious illness. These groups provide a safe space for children to share their experiences and to receive support from others who understand what they are going through.

If you’ve been invited to a group session at Daisy’s Dream, you might be wondering what to expect. We know that trying something new can feel a little nerve-wracking, so we want to help you feel as comfortable as possible before your visit.

About Daisy's Dream
What Daisy's Dream do

What Does Daisy’s Dream Look Like?

When you arrive, you’ll see a small Daisy’s Dream logo plague near the front door, just ring the bell and someone will let you in. Inside our space is designed to feel warm and welcoming. We have a small private room for children who prefer a quieter setting, and is sometimes used for our one-one sessions. We then have a large main room where most group activities take place.

In this main space, you’ll find:

  • A comfy sofa and bean bags for relaxing and chatting
  • Tables for memory work and creative activities
  • A small kitchen where we can make drinks and snacks

How Many Children Will Be There?

Our groups are small—nothing like a school classroom! Usually, there are between 6 to 10 children in a session. The smaller group means we can take time to talk, listen, and support each other in a safe and friendly environment.

What Happens During a Group Session?

Each group session is different, but we usually do a mix of talking, activities, and games. Some activities might include:

  • Sharing memories of our loved ones
  • Creative projects to help express emotions
  • Fun and interactive games to help us feel more comfortable
  • Time to chat with others who understand what you’re going through

There’s no pressure to share if you don’t want to, we create a safe space where you can talk as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.

Where is Daisy’s Dream?

Our office is located near Asda in Lower Earley, but not directly next to it—so don’t worry if you don’t see us straight away! If you’re not sure where to go, just let us know, and we’ll be happy to give you directions.

Still Have Questions?

If you or your parents have any questions before your visit, please reach out to us! We want you to feel as comfortable and prepared as possible.

We look forward to welcoming you to Daisy’s Dream soon!
